講座大綱:

教會音樂發展的顧後前瞻:怎樣預備自己為主使用

 

1。神怎樣教導選民接近,敬拜祂

2。音樂的靈與魂及其對人感性與理性的影響

3。人悔與改的過程並怎樣使用音樂的靈性,悟性領人悔與改。

4。基督教音樂與世俗音樂發展史過程的異同

5。現代音樂的特色與發展前景

6。教牧人員怎樣訓練,領導,使用音樂家以達成宣教,栽培信徒的目的

7。普世性的以及與屬世音樂不同的教會音樂原則,及

8。如何使用這些原則以面對教會音樂與屬世音樂認同及隨流的傾向。

 

羅牧師現任三藩市角聲合唱團並管弦樂團創辦人及指揮,同時於美國加州海外神學院任教敬拜神學與實踐科,及任音樂講師已達二十年;經常被邀到各地教會及機構證道、主領退修會、主持培訓。亦曾擔任三藩市市立大學音樂系教授及亞洲研究系教授兼系主任四十年,至2012年榮休,期間於三藩市灣區四間神學院(包括金門浸信會神學院、基督工人神學院等)教授神學、敬拜神學與實踐,及教會敬拜領導的聲樂技巧,並在三藩市灣區四所白人教會敬拜部任牧師達三十年。

Here is his lecture title and outline:

Prospects for the development of church music: how to prepare yourself for future worship ministry.

  1. How did God teach His chosen people, Israel to approach and worship Him.
  2. The Spirit and Soul of music and how does it influence the human Mind and Emotions.
  3. The process of man’s repentance and change toward God and how to use the spirit and soul of music to promote the understanding of God that leads to repentance and change.
  4. The different historical paths of development of Christian Music and Secular Music
  5. The characteristics and development prospects of modern music
  6. How can the pastoral staff train, lead, work with musicians to fulfill the purpose of cultivating Christian nurture and missions.
  7. How is Christian music different from secular music and
  8. How to use these differences to respond to the tendency of church music to follow the paths of secular music.

 

Pastor Law is currently the founder and conductor of the Herald Chorale and Orchestra. He also teaches Theology of Worship and Worship Practicum at Overseas Theological Seminary for 20 years. He is often invited to speak in churches, retreats and major conferences. He served as Professor of Music at City College of San Francisco for 40 years and had been elected as Head of the Department of Asian Studies. He retired in 2012. During his tenure at City College, he had also taught in four local seminaries in San Francisco Bay Area (including the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, Christian Witness Theological Seminary, etc.) where he teaches theology, worship theology and practice, and vocal skills. Joshua has served as Associate Pastor of Worship for over thirty years in four churches in San Francisco Bay Area.
